Welcome to Spongedrop Cakery. By using our website or placing an order, you agree to the terms below.

1. About Us

Spongedrop Cakery is based in New Zealand and specialises in handmade cakes and treats. Contact us at: hello@spongedrop.co.nz or (07) 572 0059.

All prices are in NZD and include GST.

2. Orders

• An order is confirmed once you receive a confirmation email from us.
• Custom cakes may vary slightly in colour, decoration, or design due to being handmade.
• Required notice:
• Cakes: 72 hours.
• Cupcakes: 24 hours.
• We may decline orders if ingredients are unavailable, payment fails, or the design requested is inappropriate.

3. Payment

Payment is due at the time of ordering unless otherwise arranged. We accept: cash, EFTPOS, debit and credit cards (Visa, Mastercard), and PayPal. Orders may be cancelled if payment is reversed or fails.

4. Cancellations & Refunds

• Standard orders: Full refund if cancelled 72 hours before pickup/delivery.
• Wedding cakes: Deposits are non-refundable once design or preparation has begun.

Under the Consumer Guarantees Act (CGA), you may be entitled to a refund or replacement if a product is faulty or not as described.

We do not refund for:

• change of mind,
• damage after pickup/delivery,
• minor design variations or personal taste preferences.

5. Pickup & Delivery

• Once picked up, the cake becomes your responsibility.
• We provide care instructions - please follow them to maintain quality.
• Delivery of cupcakes is available within Tauranga for an additional fee.
• If no one is available to receive the order, re-delivery fees may apply.

6. Allergies

Our products may contain or come into contact with gluten, dairy, eggs, nuts, soy, and other allergens. While we offer allergy-friendly options, we cannot guarantee a completely allergen-free environment.

7. Website Use

All content on our website, including images and text, belongs to Spongedrop Cakery.
Please do not copy or reuse our content without permission.

8. Privacy

We collect only the personal information needed to process orders and provide customer service. We follow the NZ Privacy Act 2020. See our Privacy Policy for more detail.

9. Liability

To the extent permitted by NZ law, our liability is limited to the amount paid for your order. Your rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act always apply.

10. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of our website means you accept the latest version.
